Below, you'll find a list of stores that normally offer classes and workshops, as well as some of the specific classes they offer.

Movin' On - Beginners II (6 X 2 ˝ hr. classes) -
This 6 week class picks up where Getting Started ends, and continues on with advanced fundamentals of sewing.

Unfortunately, we cannt hold a spot without payment. We have sewing machines for a rental fee of $10.
There are no refunds unless a class is cancelled. Age restrictions are firm.

This location regularly offers BEGINNERS' SEWING (6 - 2 1/2 hr. classes).

Students will be constructing a Fitted Skirt in this Class.
You will be taught:
1. How to read the front and back cover of a pattern
2. How to measure and check pattern measurements
3. Layout and cutting, tracing of pattern seams
4. How to baste, sew in and press darts
5. Different types of needles, fabrics and interfacing
6. How to sew up edges and put in zipper
7. Sewing up side seams and fitting; also how to apply interfacing
8. How to do wasteband and buttonhole
9. Sewing buttons, hems and some hand techniques
STUDENTS' OWN SEWING MACHINE IS REQUIRED. ALL SUPPLIES ARE EXTRA.
Supplies you will need:
· Your own Sewing Machine
· Notebook and Pen
· Hand Needles
· Glass Head Pins
· Ruler (clear plastic)
· Small Seam Ripper
· Scissors (for paper and fabric)
· White Thread
· Measuring Tape
· Hem Gauge
· Tailor's Chalk
· Tracing Paper
· Tracing Wheel (with zigzag wheel)
· 3 Colour Markers
· Tissue Paper
· Clear Tape
· Pin Cushion
· A shoebox or plastic container for your supplies

This location offers Beginner & Intermediate Classes on an ongoing basis, according to customer interest.
Limit of 5 students per class. Courses consist of 5 - 3 hour and/or 6 - 2 1/2 hour classes on Saturdays.

Please Note: Please do not purchase fabric or supplies until we confirm that the class will take place. A minimum of 4 students are required to run a sewing class, to a maximum of 6 students. Classes may be canceled due to lack of interest. If a class is canceled you will be refunded for the cost of the class only.
Early paid registration will secure your place. We reserve the right to cancel a course if there is insufficient interest. Your own machine is required for all classes. All of our classes are kept small. Cost is for instruction only. All project materials are above the course cost. A requirement list is provided at time of paid registration. We regret that course fees are non-refundable.
Please Also Note: Paid, registered students will receive a 20% discount on regularly priced fabrics and supplies for the duration of paid classes only. Valid Sewing Club Members save an additional 10%. Please see store for details.
